At Twilert, we’re lucky to have an extremely varied customer base, as like most apps, no one size fits all. This week, we decided to take a look at how Twilert helps those working within the PR industry.

Public Relations on Twitter

Firstly, what is Twilert?

Twilert is a twitter monitoring tool which allows you to setup search alerts to track keywords, brand names, hashtags and any other mentions which are useful to a client’s business or your own. The results are then sent directly to your inbox, as often as you need to see them.

Why would someone working in PR need a Twilert account?

Twitter is an effective social channel for gaining coverage and monitoring news, but it can be extremely time consuming to keep track of every single tweet or mention. Most PR agencies work on various client accounts simultaneously, all of whom have different needs and social strategies.

Twilert provides an easy way to monitor Twitter coverage for clients, no matter how diverse their needs may be. The email alerts are perfect to show Twitter coverage gained and with our Pro and Agency accounts, the search history is saved for you to browse.

For in-house PRs, Twilert is ideal for monitoring a company’s twitter coverage and allows a smaller team to have perfect visibility and control over the brand’s online reputation.

Twilert can also be a key tool in crisis management, something every PR hopes will never happen, but prepares for anyway.

How could I use Twilert?

Twilert helps you to setup alerts that monitor when a Twitter user mentions your brand online. Twilert can also monitor hashtags, names or conversations surrounding your client – even when their handle hasn’t been tagged correctly.

Twilert also offers advanced search filters, allowing you to intuitively look for leads using the geolocation and language filters. This is a great way to gain new customers for your client and can often lead to a direct purchase or warm lead. Show me how.

Basic, Pro, Agency – Which account is most suitable for me?

Twilert Basic

The Twilert Basic subscription is a ‘lite’ model which allows up to 5 twitter searches and an unlimited number of email alerts, which can be sent daily or hourly. This is great for when you only work on a single client Twitter account or perhaps just your own.

Twilert Pro

Our Pro account is great for monitoring multiple Twitter users, keywords or hashtag campaigns as it allows up to 50 twitter searches and again, unlimited email alerts. Our Pro users receive alerts in realtime and also have access to a database where they can search for a previous mention or view the coverage to date.

Twilert Agency

The agency account is popular with both large and small PR agencies and has been built with them in mind.

When an agency is working on more than a few accounts, this can require a high number of searches and filters for each . Our Agency account allows users to have hundreds of individual searches and unlimited email alerts. It also allows each member of the team to have their own account, perfect for working on various projects or client accounts.

Our agency account also allows you to setup various emails groups and provides alerts in realtime.

How are other PR companies using Twilert?

One of our PR clients works with a luxury central-London Beauty Parlour that provides cutting-edge treatments not always available at a regular salon. By setting up searches for specific keywords and using the geolocation filtering feature, they have managed to find and recruit many new customers that were looking for a specific treatment they offer, within that area.

Another client used Twilert to monitor a hashtag for a launch party that received over 2000 Twitter mentions in one night. While everyone else was busy at the party, Twilert was busy collating this data for the client to read through post-event.
